Ron DiFelice

Ron DiFelice, Ph.D.

Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer

Dr. Ron DiFelice is co-founder and CEO of EIP Storage and is a respected thought leader on the opportunities and challenges emerging from the transition to a low carbon electricity economy. He has over 20 years of experience across all types of energy storage, grid-edge technologies, and markets.

Before launching EIP Storage, he served as a Managing Partner of Energy Intelligence Partners, an advisory firm serving renewable energy developers, investors, utilities and Fortune 500 companies, and a co-developer for over 5 GWh of solar plus storage and stand-alone energy storage projects.

Dr. DiFelice earned a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Virginia Tech (Phi Lambda Upsilon), an MBA from Kenan‐Flagler at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (Beta Gamma Sigma), and Bachelor and Master of Science degrees from the Rochester Institute of Technology.

Mr. May is co-founder and COO of EIP Storage.  Prior to EIP he was co-founder of Energy Intelligence Partners, along with Dr. DiFelice, and has a wide variety of experience as an investor, operator and advisor, in the new energy economy, including solar, wind, storage, biomass and biochemicals.

Mr. May’s background is in private equity and investment banking.  He also holds a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Environmental Management (Energy) from Duke University and a BA in political science from UNC-Chapel Hill.

April Montgomery

Chief Development Officer

April Montgomery is the Chief Development Officer of EIP Storage. She has over two decades of experience in project development, including wind, solar and storage projects. Her work has supported gigawatts of clean energy projects across the country.

Prior to joining EIP, April served as Client Services Director – Generation for SWCA Environmental Consultants, a national environmental services firm company that acquired REAP in 2019. REAP was founded by April in 2013 to assist public and private sector clients build sustainable projects that balance environmental and economic development. April graduated with a BA in History and Design from Florida State University and a Master of Art in Urban Planning from the University of Florida.

Senior Project Developer

Lyra has over 20 years of pioneering programs in renewable energy training, workforce development, outreach, and education. Before joining EIP Storage in 2024, she taught renewable energy courses at NC State University’s College of Natural Resources. While working with the NC Clean Energy Technology Center from 2004 to 2017, Lyra developed and launched the Renewable Energy Technologies Diploma Series and the Certificate in Renewable Energy Management. She was also involved in the creation of North Carolina’s model wind ordinance before a statewide permitting process was established.

Lyra was one of the first Environmental Science graduates in the Philippines, where she graduated with the Departmental Award from Ateneo de Manila University. She also holds an MS in Environmental Science from American University. Her last name, pronounced doom-doom, means “to remember” in her native Cebuano language.
